One should always demand their rights and the one who wants to protect his rights should demand a receipt buying a certain product which proves that he has really paid for a definite amount of money.
There are also many organizations whose duty is to protect consumer rights and control the behavior of such companies but very often they manage to avoid punishment and continue cheating people.
